I fully embrace the belief that sustained healing and growth is not only something to hope for, but it is obtainable. Most of us are caught in habits, stress patterns and negative beliefs that keep us living below our optimal level despite our best efforts to make the changes we want to make in our life.

There is an increased understanding of how our brain functions and is impacted by stress and trauma. As a result of this increased understanding, therapeutic approaches have been developed to facilitate our natural ability to heal. I am a certified EMDR therapist (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and have witnessed healing on deeper levels using this evidence based therapy than I did prior to my training to become an EMDR therapist. I love the quote by Maya Angelou which states, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” I believe this quote applies to each of us on a personal level as well as on a professional level. One of my goals professionally is to continue to grow and evolve, so that my work remains current with the advancements being made in our field.
